copying v - my list

just in case you wanted to know:

What was I doing ten years ago?

Probably watching MTV and going out on the lake skiing and wakeboarding...I did a lot of these things during the summers of high school

What are five (non-work) things on my to-do list for today?

we'll say tomorrow (or technically it is today I guess)

  1. laundry
  2. walk the dog
  3. read: Kite Runner and Hero for Christ, a book recently written by a friend
  4. unload the dishwasher (they've been clean in there for a few days now!)
  5. check email / other random online stuff

Five foods I enjoy:

  1. Red Baron Garlic crust 4-cheese pizza
  2. gummy bears
  3. Pink Lady apples
  4. anything Mexican food (especially breakfast tacos)
  5. barbecued brisket (gotta be a good Texas girl)

Things I would do if I were a millionaire:

  1. pay off loans and mortgage
  2. upgrade the house (I'm copying you a lot on these it seems, V)
  3. help support missionary friends more
  4. travel lots (take that Mediterranean cruise we've been talking about)
  5. keep my job, cause I think it's fun, but work fewer days

Places I’ve lived:

  1. Austin
  2. Waco
  3. North shore Massachusetts (S. Hamilton & Danvers)
  4. West Philadelphia
  5. Columbus

Jobs I’ve had:

  1. telephone survey-taker
  2. hostess, waitress, food runner at various restaurants
  3. Cutco salesperson
  4. summer nanny
  5. after school childcare worker
Well, wasn't that fun? I hope you enjoyed all the lovely pictures!

Goodbye friends - I'll miss you!

On Monday I pulled the plug and said goodbye to my new best friends, Stacy & Clinton, Cesar, and Steven. That would be Stacy & Clinton from What Not to Wear, Cesar from the Dog Whisperer, and Steven Colbert of the Colbert Report. Yes it's true, I was the one annoying customer who actually canceled their cable subscription after the free month (granted, I did pay for half a month extra, so at least they were able to squeeze a little cash out of me). It was hard to do, but my house and yard are thanking me, because now they're finally getting a little (much needed) attention.

Even though it's hard to say goodbye, I'm comforted knowing that we'll still be able to keep in touch via the internet. I've recently discovered Clinton's column in the Chicago Tribune which I can read online, and that I can watch WHOLE EPISODES of the Colbert Report! So it's not all sad...after I dry my tears, I may just go see what's happenin' with Cesar and his pups.

Farewell Friends! It's been grand!

fun playing in the dirt!

I'm not a gardener, never have been. But I've been noticing lately that the grass (or weeds, or both?) has been hardcore migrating into the flower beds. Yesterday I bought a spade, and one of those things with three bent prongs, and some gardening gloves. And today I attacked the ground and discovered that it's actually a lot of fun playing in the dirt. Who knew? I only got a fraction of the work done, and Corey lamented my lack of efficiency, but I figured it's so much fun I just want to prolong the enjoyment!

In other news, Corey is somewhat disappointed to report that he actually didn't hate (and maybe even sorta enjoyed, a little) the small group we went to tonight from our church. More details to come. Must watch movie now.
